Kahit paligid ay madilim

Our country has proven to the world that democracy does reign in the Philippines and that there is hope for a better and brighter future ahead for us. Take this important piece of Philippine history, democracy and hope home with you with the 7-Elections Commemorative Cup. With a new leader, new optimism and new dreams, there's no way else to go but forward together in the coming years. Now, that's definitely something we Filipinos can all drink to!

June 12 is a local holiday and yearly we celebrate our very own Independence Day. And so, to make it very special, Eveready, the number one battery and flashlight brand in the Philippines, commemorates its one hundred and tenth anniversary (110th), and simultaneously launched Eveready’s: Kasama sa Pagbuo ng Isang Laging Handang Pilipinas campaign. Aiming to help build the Philippines into an Eveready Nation that is always prepared no matter what the emergency is: it is a way of giving back to the community and a nationwide effort.

Prior the event was a bit torture for me. It was so traffic and people are so everywhere! I had to run as if I am a horse rushing all the way towards the venue. But thank God, I was able to get in the area at exact 5 p.m. and at least practice my freedom with joy, since MRT has a free ride and yes it was Eveready’s anniversary special!

Well for all you people who did not know about Eveready’s Libreng Sakay (Free Ride) last Saturday. It was a whole day of free jeepney rides all throughout Metro Manila, and in local areas including Pampanga, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and Cebu. Placed in strategic locations like in malls, marketplaces and in main roads for the most part, the Libreng Sakay jeepney service was a big hit with thousands of avid commuters who benefited from the free jeepney service.

It was in fact a weekend family affair that was truly anticipated, which produced a massive crowd last Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City, which resulted into a huge success; it’s a paid tribute to all Filipino families who have welcomed and patronized Eveready for decades.

On top of it was, a promotional booths and flashlight product testing were opened to all mall goers during the celebration.

In addition to Eveready’s anniversary celebration and campaign launching, was an immense performance by our fellow citizens from service-oriented groups of the Philippine Airforce Marching band, Philippine Marine Core Marching Band, Metro Manila Development Authority Marching Band, and Silent Drill Performing Group and a number of schools.

Employees from Eveready partake as well in the grand flashlight exhibition, leading to a 500-strong human flag and Eveready logo formation that delighted the audience later in the evening. Following the performance was a symbolic product donation to select service-oriented organizations and government agencies, among them were the Philippine Airforce, Philippine Marines, Philippine National Police, Philippine National Red Cross, MMDA, City Disaster Council, and the National Disaster Coordinating Council–NCR.

Sugarfree was also there and sang their hits and of course the Eveready’s Handa Na Jingle to wrap up the show.

Furthermore, the celebration of the Independence Day and Eveready’s launching/anniversary was indeed a party hardcore!
