A People’s Tribute to CNN Hero Efren Penaflorida

Efren Peñaflorida, CNN Hero of the Year, will be at the center of a demonstration of popular will to get out of the disastrous course of current Philippine life. To be held at Makati Avenue starting from a 3 p.m. massing at the Ninoy Aquino statue on December 11, 2009, the event is a concert, a rally, a call for extreme awareness of current politics.
The event will rally hope around the heroic capacity of each Filipino, to design and realize change.
Change, say the organizers, can be as modest but life-changing as Efren’s invention of a kariton classroom. Or as large-scale and demanding as organizing sustained public response to the Maguindanao massacre. Or as provisional as creating alliances. Or as as all-consuming as insisting on good governance.
The cry is Tayo ang taumbayan! Tayo ang pagbabago! Rallying around the now iconic image of Efren’s kariton, the participants are enjoined to bring three things: their own photograph to include in a democracy wall; a gift for exchanging with another, unknown participant; and a school-supplies contribution to the kariton classroom of Efren. These acts that create humane relations are the Filipino’s symbolic gestures against the inhumanities visited upon the nation by an anti-people politics. With these symbolic gifts, the rallyists will express a faith in the collective capacity of Filipinos to lead their leaders.
Konsyerto para sa Pagbabago marks a shift from a leader-oriented to a people-centered political life. It will express outrage over the Maguindanao massacre, rejection of martial law in Maguindanao, the killing of journalists, and all efforts to thwart democratic institutions. With regard to these appalling issues, Filipino leaders should move in tune with the citizenry’s sentiments.

DSLR – I’m attending events for almost a year now, although I have digital camera that my sister lend me every time I go to an event, I’d still wanted to take photos in more defined quality and I think DSLR is one of the best thing that man has ever made when it comes to photography (though I still don’t know what brand to buy IF EVER).
Casio Watch – I always wanted to have a Casio watch since high school years. I know it’s pretty pricey but I know for sure that it matches me well. There’s a lot of high quality brand of watch at present but I still want a Casio Watch. Since, I learned to value the time now. hohoho.
New Sneaker – I’m the type of being that is hardly swayed. I always looked up to well-known brands when it comes to good quality. However, I don’t usually buy stuff because it’s “USO” (trendy) and I always consider my budget when buying things like in shoes and the likes. Just to remind myself of the countless blessings that God has given me and not to mention the spoiled footwear’s that I had, I still owned 2 (leather) slippers, 1 flip-flop, 2 sandals, 1 boot, 1 flat shoe, 1 half-shoe, 1 girly shoe (I don’t know what it is being called), 1 sneaker (since the other skater sneaker like that I used in college finally took its break forever (boohoo) and so I want a brand new sneaker! 
Brand new eyeglass – since my eye grade now is 200 (doh) and I can’t hardly see at night. I think I need a brand new eyeglass. Cause I can only see someone within spitting distance. So in an instance that when you passed by, make sure that you see me wearing glasses cause if I don’t, don’t think that I’d ignored you, a’ight. Pfft.
Xbox 360 – I’m not really a gamer. But yeah, I did play brick game, family computer, Nintendo, Play Station, PSP even DS. However, I don’t own them, except for the brick game. Since I guess it’s been two years when I learned about this gadget, I will crave for it until I have it.

2010 – I’m waiting for the year 2010 to come for almost two years. Why? I don’t know either. So don’t ask me. LOL. All I know is that, whatever happens happens. I lift it up to the Lord and I let His will be done. ^_^
I’m not a material type of girl. What I owned is what I think I badly need. The list that I have made is impossible to have in a blink of an eye. Therefore, I need some more stretching and more work to do. Moreover, I’m optimistically looking forward in upcoming year 2010. Besides, it ain’t so hard waiting for the right time to come. Right.
