PostHeaderIcon THE ONE SCHOOL Introduces: SHIFT(School of Intermedia, Film & Technology)

WHAT THE ONE SCHOOL IS ABOUT:
There are many specialized schools at the High School and Grade School levels which cater to the different learning styles that young people have. By College however, most school teach using the same, traditional methods that have been employed for generations. The one school believes in personal instruction which happens in small classroom environments; where students learn how to speak up, be unique and create whatever learning structure works best for them. For all our programs there is a strong entrepreneurship focus since the last thing we want to breed are starving artists.
We think there is a need for schools that offer alternative education options in the Philippines, where students are not taught through the same instruction methods of past generations. Not that there is anything wrong with traditional education. After all we were all products of this method. We just think that the way the other schools are going about the education biz is not always thateffective for some kinds of students. Hopefully we can be an alternative to the mainstream.
THE ONE SCHOOL INTRODUCES: SHIFT (School of Intermedia, Film & Technology) SHIFT
(School of Intermedia, Film & Technology). This program is being pioneered by TeamManila and Quark Henares. TeamManila is the Multi-Disciplinary Graphic Design studio behind the ultra-successful clothing and lifestyle brand, but first and foremost, TeamManila is a graphic design studio that has won acclaim for its design work in print, motion graphics, web development and the digital arts world throughout the years. TeamManila lives to inspire Manila’s Visual Culture, which is also the reason they co-founded SHIFT. Quark has directed several movies, one of which is KEKA, that opened the Berlin Asian Hotshots Film Festival in 2008 and was also the film that famed Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino spoke so highly of. Entrepreneur and Stanford University Master of Science and Engineering graduate Lex Ledesma rounds off the SHIFT team by bringing his business acumen into the artistic mix so students learn how to create profitable careers out of their raw talent. Students of SHIFT will learn how to use all digital formats such as Graphic Design, Web Design, Film and others to create powerful still and moving images. . .

The MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) campaign is an award-winning multimedia initiative to raise awareness and increase prevention of human trafficking and exploitation. MTV EXIT was launched in Europe in 2004, in partnership with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida, and expanded across Asia with USAID in 2007. To date MTV EXIT has produced many MTV documentaries and other programming on trafficking, including Traffic: An MTV EXIT Special, presented by Lucy Liu; Inhuman Traffic, presented by Angelina Jolie; over a dozen localized language versions presented by Asian celebrities; short films; public service announcements; and animation. MTV EXIT and Radiohead collaborated on an anti-exploitation video for their song All I Need, which premiered across MTV’s global network on 1 May 2008. MTV EXIT has also established partnerships with over 100 non-governmental organizations, distributed hundreds of thousands of anti-trafficking brochures in over 25 languages, and reached out to millions of young people through anti-trafficking messages at concerts and music festivals featuring R.E.M., Radiohead, The White Stripes, The Hives, Thievery Corporation, and hundreds of other international and local artists. For more information see www.mtvexit.org.

.

Human Trafficking is defined by the United Nations as “the recruitment, transportation, and receipt of a person for sexual or economical exploitation by force, fraud, coercion, or deception” in order to make a profit. The UN estimates that at any one time there are 2.5 million trafficked victims in the world, with the majority of these victims in Asia and the Pacific. It is the second-largest illegal trade after drugs, with criminal traffickers earning over US$10 billion every year through the buying and selling of human beings. Often, victims are young men and women – the MTV demographic – who are guilty
only of wanting a better life. –

PostHeaderIcon The World I L-o-v-e.

I felt for sure last night, That once we said goodbye, No one else will know these lonely dreams, No one else will know that part of me, I’m still driving away, And I’m sorry every day. It was my turn to decide. I won’t always live in my regrets. The one thing that stays mine…
[be happy, Jollibee]
